at the game tonight. been enjoyable first half. we probably just about deserve the lead. the goal by tubbs was spectacular 25/30 yards out into roof of net over speroni. torres has looked impressive few good passes and touches. mills has shown his class with some fantastic tackles, appears to be the main man organising back four. kuipers made couple great saves and collected few crosses ver confidently. lets hope second half we play as well.

i am not great with palace players but i had heard of a fair few of their players tonight so i would say was a strong line up in first half however second half was more their reserves. currently heading home will do more details when get back.

Palace rarely threatened. They upped their game after about 60 minutes after we had taken off Masterton, Torres, Cook and Howell. Most of their chances were from distance in the second half bar one effort, with the 10 being their best player.

Kuipers will earn us some points this season for sure based on tonight's display and Jordan was great second half too. Mills was solid at the back. Masterton's distribution was superb. And the goal was an excellent lob from Tubbs.

Interesting that SE has gone looking for another left back even though he had cover in Ryan already. Howell didn't have much to do defensively and was alright going forward. Maybe it's because Rents could be out for up to 10 weeks, not the 6 that has been reported?

Torres could do with putting some studs in his boots. I'm not sure the dramatics will go down too well with BSP refs come the start of the season.

Even though it was a friendly a win is a win. The signs are positive, but I don't think we should get too excited just yet.

Edit: And I think it was Palace's first pre-season game.

It appears from reading the CPFC BBS that the 'abuse' at Nick Jordan in the second half was meant for Kuipers due to the 5-0 James mentioned in the other thread.

Someone should have told them we subbed him at half-time. Embarassed

Kuipers and Jordan look similiar don't they? Laughing
