In the NLP today- Crawley accepts 5 point deduction - no appeal to be made. Potential 11 point deduction for Oxford!

A whole article about the programmes debts and signing players with comments from a "Broadfield Stadium source".

Oh dear! Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

The"Broadfield Stadium source" should be identified, and made to walk around Bewbush at chucking out time on a Saturday night until suitably beaten up!

IF this is true then let's just take the hit ASAP so as that we can get on with out season. This farce has dragged on for long enough.

I don't know any of the circumstances however 5 pts doesn't seem to bad. As BICH says let's take it and get on with our season, get rid of the uncertianity.

I haven't got a copy of the paper, what did it say about programmes ect?

I'd still wait for official confirmation as the NLP is not the most accurate source ... Confused

There is a statement on the official site stating that the article is not correct with regards to the program. The reason given for the payment not being made was that vic had to sign the cheque. No mention of the points deduction

Interesting given they were quick enough to post something on there last week when the story broke. Confused

It also says that there was a reduced programme available for the Woking game. Anyone get a copy?

Official Site wrote:
The explanation is quite simple. Prior to Christmas Vic Marley’s extended stay in hospital prevented a payment cheque being sent as he is our cheque signatory. In turn this caused a minor problem for one match but we found a solution and produced a reduced match programme for the match concerned.

So reduced in fact that nobody saw it Confused

It also begs the question as to why there isn't a separate independant signatory for cheques just in case something like Vic's illness happens again?

I'm sure that BR will say that it is none of my business but when it affects the club it almost feels like a personal slight.

It also says that Crawley are signing players on "Generous" deals while owing the programme supplier

All sounds a bit thin.

The Chairman is taken ill and vital bills do not get paid.

But hey, it's all been sorted out now. Very Happy

What I would like to no if this points deduction is correct what system is going to be put in place to make sure this does not happen again as getting points deducted every season is getting to be a joke, furthermore who is responsable for this cock up and whats going to happen internaly will heads roll which should be the case over such basic mistakes

It happens.

So Lewis Chalmers has been out recently and hasn't played a first team game for 2 months. Do you a) pay his wages whilst he is sitting around or b) pay/subsidise his wages whilst he gets fit at another club.

It has happened under previous managers as well - Gez Murphy for example.

Plus Lewes have survived half a season with help from the Albion.

Yes Simon, Saint Steve would never lie and Boston United are not still being penalised by the FA for amounts owed to a plethora of clubs who supposedly loaned players to their bestest friend while picking up the salary cheque. Rolling Eyes

Although the CVA documentation and the afore mentioned clubs will argue differantly. Crying or Very sad
