Weirdo comment on BBC this evening, "Newport County are a point away from League Two safety"

Well we scraped a point at home against a bottom 4 side. That's the reality of it.

A last minute change when Matt Harrold was injured in the warm up. Now he is a good bloke I agree, but we have surely reached the end of the road with him now. Just when we needed cover up front for Collins suspension he is injured yet again.

We had one effort on target all game, from Smith in the first half. That was it.

Otherwise two poor sides, a low crowd, poor ref and it just felt like too many players were going through the motions. Sadly it isn't hoi g to put more bums on seats which is what we need right now.

I visited Kew Gardens today. Sounds like it was more exciting than the game.

Just think if Lewis Young hadn't cleared that effort off the line we'd have lost today. Cool

Makes you worried about how many bums there will be on seats in the Conference next season at this rate , Accrington, Carlisle, Cambridge and Mansfield all looking for a place in the play offs, Crawley just hoping someone else will do them a favour, it doesn't look very pretty

First of all can anyone say there was any entertainment or enjoyment in that game. Absoloutley dire . If Drum my is trying to get the team playing football someone needs to telll him he is failing miserably.
We def are not safe yet 3 more points will do it but we are clueless.

I thought we were a little unlucky today.
In the 54th minute we put four passes together, and very nearly completed the fifth!!!
Hey, that would have brilliant wouldn't it??

He had a pretty good game today in fairness, quite a few important clearances.

How low can we go ?

That was the worst game I have seen for a long time (having missed the game against Crewe)

Surely this proves beyond doubt that DD is not up to the job.

not sure where to start tbh

DD had a hoofball game plan which would have seen Harrold if he played completely isolated as they were a huge side.

so relief you might think knowing Harrold wasn't playing so we would go with the passing game that nearly got us something out of Plymouth,? but no we still play hoofball sheer bloody mindedness from DD

Then you go to make a sub so bring off Kaby on of only a handful of players who deserved to wear the shirt today and replace him when it was clear Clifford was once again way out of his comfort zone.

with Connolly and Harrold potential out for a while and with DD being completely clueless and having no tactical knowledge, it is really going to be a struggle to secure that win we STILL need to be safe.

the big worry is the football gets worse and the teams left are at a much better standard it could go down to the last game of the season.

first game for a couple of months today due to commitments (and a lack of enthusiasm tbh).

what has happened to the passing game we were trying to play first half of the season ?

know that there were plenty of occasions when it didn't work and at times it was passing for passing's sake but you could at least see a style of play we were attempting and think most of us were encouraged enough to be patient while it hopefully developed.

today the passing was non-existent, just lumping it up to Murphy who had no chance in the air and when he went off, only change was to knock it in the air wider to Roberts who at least had a bit more success.

Luckily for DD the teams below us will run out of games before overtaking us.
