Strong starting XI playing two up at home. I hope it works as we may never see it again. Direct football may be the order of the day. Not much offensively on the bench mind. |

Going for it tonight with the two up top. Be interesting to see the Murphy and Collins partnership from the start.
Old fashioned four-four-two from DD? Enzio and Cox on the wings, Payne and Smith in the middle? |

Make sure theres no away *beep* in the home sections. There are no excuses and enough bobbies to handle it. Going two up front is a good indication we mean business tonight COYR |

Is couple of observations about tonight :
1. No effort to play football at all. We played to not conceded from the first kick off. Similar to the Donnny game , where has Dermotts football philosophy gone.
2. We are not fit enough. Some individuals are OK but about 7 of that team are not in the right shape to play professional football. Cox , Payne and Enzio being the worst culprits. Never mind being first to a fifty fifty lose ball we weren't even second half the time.
Very uninspiring performance in all. |

We were simply outclassed tonight. Pompey were ruthlessly effective and we never stood a chance. Drummy seemed to have no ideas about how to combat them and the players' heads seemed to be dropped the whole way through. A night that really reveals our limitations ( if they weren't already there to be seen...)
Thought their fans were incredible tonight as well, surely the best away support to grace the Broadfield? Showed that they are just a completely different football club to what we are, we can't ever really be expecting to be competing with the likes of Portsmouth.

That was aysmal
We did not effectively compete or challenge for the duration of the game despite our best efforts
Portsmouth rarely got out of neutral a d still made us look like utter mugs
This, for me, was a reality check. It was David vs Goliath a d Goliath smashed us to pieces with his hands in his pockets |

It just about sums the game up with Glenn Morris named as MOM, AGAIN !!
Second to the ball in most departments and very little movement off the ball.
I await to hear the same excuses from the Statue AKA Dermot Drummy.

Pompey were the better side. Better players, better tactics, just better.
Our players didn't stop trying and you couldn't fault the effort but when we play the better sides we are found wanting.
I'm a long way away from the goals but the first looked like a free header in the middle of the box from a corner so something has gone wrong there. The second was a great strike from the left winger after he embarrassed Lelan (again).
