The style of football has been better, but bringing in sideways Henderson and not getting in real full backs leave us open.....also feel midfield play too deep when we are attacked
Henderson rarely misses a pass and seems much more committed than when he was last with us.Collins is alone up front with two or three defenders our two wide players are a yard in from the touchline with the main task of supporting the full backs so who are these defence splitting forward passes supposed to go to?

I don't think I'd miss a five yard pass sideways or backwards either.

Fair enough - But I believe ElTel was making the point that the formation leaves too many players in deep roles, which means that it is unlikely that anyone is running into the advanced positions to provide him with the option for a telling forward pass.. ?

We have to stop the rot of losing at home, it is difficult for even the most ardent fan to stay positive if he/she is watching us lose consistently at our ground, even if the away results keep improving.

Bottom line is you can count on one hand the number of times we put a decent cross or even any type of cross into the penalty area.
How many times do we see anyone attack the fullbacks and actually go past them. How many of you have honestly seen a defence splitting pass that you applauded. How many shots do we have and how many actually trouble the goalkeeper or even the goal itself. How many times do we counter attack in numbers and get the crowd on their feet because we look dangerous going forward. How many more times do we have to see Collins isolated because the manager continues to play one up front, one up front for home games it's bloody criminal.

It's not criminal, we're just not that good. Some decent players, but too many of them are inconsistent, and under performing. DD has worked wonders with Smith and Young. He just doesn't seem able to get the whole 11 playing well on a regular basis. Next season will be better I'm sure. Problem is, when we're not good, we're awful. We are never just indifferent, there's no in between with Crawley.

I agree with lee66, let's see a more positive attitude on the pitch.

This.

I thought the same in the SSC game. We had the vast majority of the possession but it was all sideways stuff and we simply didn't work a Rymans league defence.

Needless to say on pretty much the only time Bognor got forward, Flapper did his bit and we needed extra time. In fact it was so boring we left early and skipped the E/T.
