Worst referee ever. We got better as game progressed and could have had a couple more. Bantom, Roberts and Blackman ( after a shaky start) played well.

FT 1-0 Crawley! Always good to get the early wins in while teams are settling in. Onwards and upwards!

An assured and reasonably comfortable win, everyone did their job, special mention to Roberts and - shock horror - Young and best of all we seemed to keep a decent shape which always gave us options particularly out wide... ref was appalling but hey-ho, we are Crawley Town, we only need ten men..!

salut

You can add Mersin to that list. I would have substituted him after the 1st 20 minutes, that's how shaky he looked. But then I am not a league manager and DD made the right call to keep him on as he much improved (confidence) thru the game.

Blackmail? Today may have been my first game with the current squad but I'm sure we didn't have anyone with that name playing.

First short observations -

Mark C. - might as well gave him the player of the season award right now, that's how an important signing he is for us
Young - looked like a much matured player
Boldewijn - I think he will be better than Gwion, and will also be a fan favourite
Collins - possibly our best forward since Tubbs in his prime, exactly what we need for league two, coached Enzio well throughout the game
Smith - I thought he was atrocious when I first saw him play a few seasons ago, much improved, less headless chicken, coached others well during the game
McNerney - the moment you have 20 yards + between your defence and your goal keeper he ain't the man to turn, make up ground and recover, solid when we are under pressure

Blackman was very good going forward created the goal and laid am great chance for someone else. He is a bit of a puzzle. Clearly has a lot of talent his passing and pace are above this level. He got better as the game went on . He just needs to develop some self control. Looks like the red mist is only ever centimeters from engulfing him. I thought he was going to start a fight with the Beast at one point.

I've never seen a team whinge, bleat and drip to the referee as much as WWFC. Bunch of tarts.

Well done CTFC.

Apologies, I forgot snivelling and griping too.

I agree - at one point (this is when he laid a a great chance for someone else) he was just toying with the WW defenders. But that's why he is with CTFC and not maybe with the likes of a league 1 team right now - he needs discipline and reading the game rammed into him. Maybe this is why DD is 'da man' for us and maybe, just maybe, we can have a lot of fun this season!

Plenty of signs for cautious optimism today I thought, we have 2 or 3 very talented footballers and you can see Drummy is instilling a decent philosophy for the team to play to.

Get a far better feeling watching this team than last years' already.
