Bless The Lord ! Yates confirmed he is unlikely to play for Crawley again.

We need a couple of midfielders with Smith and Walton out. But Rooney was so unfit it wasn't funny.

Not good but an unfit Rooney is no worse than Tomlin or rest our midfield today

I've not seen that anywhere, have you got a source?

During the match we were discussing the options available from the bench & commented on Rooney's absence... I expressed the view that it is a shame because at least he offers something different and can change things, which none of the others could...

..in the event I was wrong, Fenelon gave us that directness that we needed, but I still feel a fit Rooney would be an asset to any team. However if he can't force his way into our paper-thin squad then it looks like he really needs to sort himself out.

There is a player in Rooney and he can change a game on his day.

But when you look at the amount of clubs he has had at his age, it does tell a story.

I fully expect him to rock up at a Whitehawk / Margate / Forest Green / Eastleigh next.

Rooney is George Best in his own head. He thinks he is a highly skilled player but is just an overweight never will be. Sad fact is after Crawley it's non league.

He will no doubt persuade some non league club in August he is reformed, talented and worth a punt .....for the seventh time.

Rooney has basically made a career out of having the same last name as an actually good player.

That screamer against Exeter aside, he's been appalling in most of his games here, and hasn't been much better elsewhere from what I understand.

No great loss.

He's had plenty of chances with us and throughout his career. Bottom line is, he can't be trusted. He can't be trusted to keep hold of the ball, can't be trusted to keep fit and can't even be trusted to turn up to training. Waste of space.

Shame as I think he has ability. But if he can't turn up to his job then sadly that will be the end of it.

To be fair to Mark Yates, he's signed more decent players than Duds.

I still think most of the really poor players were signed by John Gregory who we were not able to shift.

And I'd even say Rooney isn't a dud. He's a dick because he can't work out what it is to be a professional footballer.

He's a good player with a bad head. Yates wouldn't be the first manager to believe he could change a wayward character. And he won't be the last.

Shame the game on Saturday was crying out for a Rooney type player to put his foot on the ball, look for a pass and deliver. But if Rooney can't be bothered to turn up for training (or at least let the boss know he's in a hole) then he's not worth bothering about
