Is apparently surplus to requirements at Portsmouth. I would prefer Rhys Murphy to be honest but think we could do worse than Tubbs as he has shown he can score at this level.

Just wondering what people thought about this? Worth doing, or should we say thanks for the memories and look elsewhere?

He is on huge money at Portsmouth, we couldn't afford to pay much of the wages if we were to get him. We need a goalscorer, he is a goalscorer but there will be other targets for MY I'm sure.

Bristol Rovers are keen on signing him according to their forum - last time I looked at it there were 10 pages on the subject

Still shocks me that some crawley fans would doubt Tubbs 1:2 scorer given a run in a side. We sadly could not afford him surprised Portsmouth not working out this season he was this league top scorer last season

Think he's past it. Lost the bit of pace he had and not big or strong enough to play up front on his own as Portsmouth have found out.

Pity really, as he would be a good foil for Harrold. Although pace was an asset, anticipation was possibly a better one; that knack of getting into the right position before others saw it coming.

Would probably only work if we loaned him from Portsmouth and played him with Matt Harrold (pretending to be T Barnett esq.)

He knows where the net is. Pace isn't always relevant as Fenelon showed yesterday. Try and grab him on loan.

He may work with Harrold . His success at Wimbledon last year was playing with Akinfenwa.

But as already stated he signed a two and a half year deal and rumoured 200k a yesr.

He's sitting very comfortable where he is. Anyone who takes would need to fund at least half his salary.

Would be an absolute no brainer if we could get him back, he will have suitors with far more spending power than us though.

Looking at our current options he would infinitely improve us up top.

But unless he's willing to take an almighty paycut, it isn't happening.

Gave him away for hundreds of thousands of pounds to a team who are now in the Premier League?

He's not what he was, but our current options are Fenelon, Harrold, Barnard and Tomlin. Compared to them I'd give serious consideration to getting Akinde back, nevermind Tubbsy.
