Has the club EVER occupied bottom position in any division it has ever played in? My memory is very poor these days, but in the time I have been following the club I cannot remember it ever happening.

It certainly happened under Hollins when we started the season on -10 points.

However we did start that season with 3 wins so I get what you are saying.

I did say my memory was not good. It appears worse than I thought. Thanks for the info.

Wow I've actually trumped JB for once.

Opening day of 2009/10 season after losing 4-0 at Mansfield.

Back in the mists of time I believe we finished one season with eleven points. If we weren't bottom then I shudder to think who could have been worse.

You can tell from all this that I am a JCL-only followed the club since around 1980.

The season 69-70 has four teams (if you include Afc) we will play this season and one who are in the league above.

Strange how we change by staying the same.

Imagine, if you had averaged 30 games a season over those 35 years you would be close to BICH's 1,000+.

Kind regards and all that boloney.

Think we actually started the season quite well in 73-74, with Archie Thorburn scoring a few goals and the Crawley Observer tipping him for a call-up to the Scotland World Cup Squad !

74-75 was dire but we did beat someone 4-2 with Adrian Glue scoring a couple.....

Then we became unstuck.

Remember going to Poole Town for the last game of the season and we lost and were relegated - only to be saved by Rushden Town going down due to ground grading - wonder what happened to them!!!!
