Having read Dumfords latest cods wallop about retained and off contract.

How does it square with Fowler who was offered two new contract depending on the league we ended up. Has Dumfords withdrawn those offers.

I see him as being in the same position as the likes of Sad and Bulman last year, out of contract but there's an offer on the table.

Can't say I disagree with him really. Clearly the club want to sort the manager position out before handing out contracts. Who knows whether the new guy will want any of these players and with limited budgets we can't afford any mishaps.

If MD concluded the desks we could all say "why was the CEO signing players" in 6 months time.

Lee Fowler has done remarkably well considering the baggage he was carrying... but League 2 is a tough gig for players like him & Tomlin unless we get in a lean mean tackling machine to do the grubby stuff.

If DS turns up at Chesterfield, or in fact anywhere else for that matter, i'd expect Fowler to follow him.

Speaking to my new best friend at the Donny debacle, Mattias (and kerchiiiinggg Paul) Pogba's agent, he said he had a coupla better offers but joined Crawley cos he wanted to play for DS again... whatever we may think about the guy as a manager, he does inspire respect from players.

Don't think it matters now Fowler is looking less keen to come back now Saunders isn't here judging by his TWEETS.

it wouldn't surprise me if Wordsworth and Fowler end up at Chesterfield.

Fowler yes. Wordsworth will be at a southern club as he is based in that part of the country - unfortunately it won't be us though.

Once again this is the problem with not having a manager on board at a critical time (when is there not a critical time in a football club?) There are players to be 'bought', out-of-contract players to offer jobs to or told they're not wanted.

All before pre-season. It may sound a long way off, but time goes quickly - especially at my age!!!!

Seems that Wordsworth is signing for the southern bit of Chesterfield, Saunders first signing there.

Oooooops Embarassed This is why staying up was so important. We could have kept Saunders and Wordsworth in League 1.
