This is Carlisle's cup final. If they don't beat us they are relegated. We are safe but our players are playing for their positions next season. With budget and wage cuts here, it will be interesting to see who wants it more.
Carlisle have a shocking away record, the worst away attack and the worst goal difference in the division. So on the stats we should not lose. But Cup Finals are something different.

So, a 1-0 or 2-0 win for us, a gate of 2900 unless a load of free tickets have been given away in which case, 2910.

1-2 Carlisle win.
I've always had a soft spot for Carlisle. They have seemed to struggle on and off the pitch for eternity.
I suspect there will be a large away following too (most of them living in the Home Counties).

I think Carlisle will win this purely because they desperately need to and we don't.
At least they don't have Jimmy Glass these days.

If we win on Tues night, we go back into the top half - gives us a chance of a 9th place finish if we can also beat Bristol City - wouldn't be bad would it?

9th bad? Its a bloody miracle if we can do it. Very decent finish, though I'm happy with staying in L1 on our miniscule, sorry "top 6" playing budget. Well done to JG and the players. Proud to be a Red.

That would be excellent. Playing for our highest ever finish is a motivator of course but I wonder if it would be enough. I would like to be there but, once again, evening class has to come first. Taking education a bit more seriously now that I'm nearer 60 than 50 Smile .

Each position higher up the table gives more money to the club so yes it does matter

Is the correct answer!! Plus, overall - I think it's where we deserve to be - top half of the table.

Scrappy game i suspect even though Carlisle have by far much more riding on the outcome of the match. I'm going for a tight 2-1 home win. Tubbs & Drury (if selected) with the goals. Crowd of around 3000 in attendance.
