Does anybody know where in Billingshurst the ground is? Do they have floodlights? or will people have to park around the pitch and turn on their headlights for the 2nd half?

They play at Jubilee Fields (shared with Billingshurst Cricket Club).
Ground is next to bypass - turn off to Wisborough Green at Platts roundabout and take first right turn to ground (it is 3/10 of a mile down road).

And I don't think they have floodlights (They are relatively new members of SCL div 3 - think this will be their second season out of the WSFL and KO is at 7pm)

They have a couple of big car parks there. And the changing rooms have heated floors Smile

No floodlights but heated floors in the changing rooms? Different way of doing things I guess Razz

Billingshurst have a goalscoring centre forward who's expected to give our centre backs a torrid time😄

Follow the signs for the recycling centre. I went there on Saturday to watch a cricket match, pitches are next to each other. There is no individual gate for football pitch, it is quite open, are they going to charge to watch this?

Official site answered my question, 5.00. Apart from passing round a bucket, don't know how they will collect it.

Probably at the gates as you leave the bypass on the lead up to the car park.

According to reports we have 9 trialists who will be playing at Billingshurst.
Be nice to know who they are, maybe someone going could give us exiles a decent report how they played and speculate who they were ?

9 trialists? It won't just be exiles needing to know who they are. Shocked
I imagine there will be a helluva lot of substitutions during the game.

Terry Fenwick

Any others .....??????

Billingshurst moved to their curent ground about 10 years ago. The pitch is pretty good. Anyway I would play the regulars on a cow pitch as it would be good practice for playing at the Checkertrade after a few weeks of rain

Thanks Peter some interesting unproven youth and some uninspiring journeymen. That said open mind as we have released players that I believe can do a job. Some players we have seen over the years have only shined in a reds shirt.

I thought Lewis Young went well and Leacock probably would be decent cover for a number of positions with his experience It's dificult to to tell on that sort of pitch against the standard Billingshurst are at but couldn't really say any others trialists impressed.

Of the players signed on Simpson Henderson and Smith looked good in midfield but we clearly need a couple more who can do a job there to a decent level.

The lad from Rovers looks a big aggressive type but need to see him against some defenders.

Did ok difficult to judge really, keen to shoot which is a good sign but as expected touch was off a bit. Plus the pitch was obviously not great.

The Dutch centre back was solid Balkanstien ? . Bradley was least impressive of the four centre back today but early days.

Not sure what you can learn from games like that.

Of the trialists Marsden (from Liverpool, Ferry anyone?) looked ok, O'Connor maybe, Hislop and Noble had something about them and Gomez seemed neat but needs a decent barber(says me) but how can you judge, say, a centre half when they are playing against a striker who plays at a much lower level? And I mean no disrespect in that statement.

Pleasant evening watching a kick about. Would have been nicer if I didn't have to drive and could have had a beer or ten.

Did make me wonder mind the *beep* that we are trialing two centre backs with three already signed whether Walsh may be leaving.

Not sure we can justify four contracted centre backs.

Do you actually WANT Walsh to leave ?, you don't seem to be able to say anything else

The idea of strengthening a side is to look at players that MAY be better than those you have, would you rather JG sat back and ignored anyone else that may be out there ?, I bet you'd soon be moaning if he did nothing and never looked at any alternative players

At least 'Drurry' won't be a problem any more.

I think most of us struggled with that one,if we are being honest.
I admit to referring to him simply as Magnus.

None of the post match reports mention anyone by this name although a centre back of Dutch origin called Pim Balkestein does exist, anyone know if he did play, maybe under an alias or does Crawley69 know something ?

EX AFC Kingston (they let him go so he cannot be much good?) now with VVV Venlo but rumours we were interested along with Oldham, but he wasnt on the triallist list on Friday.
