Thad, I think you'll find that there shouldn't be any confusion with the Slade guitarist, as his name was Jimmy LEA, I believe. Or perhaps I've been duped! Laughing

So what have we learned...

There are people at CTFC who are "distanced" from the decision making process at the club, Tom Scott, John Duly & Phil Jatman being notables... I believe such people could still run a risk of being labelled "directors" when they are more accurately "shareholders"... or in Jarman's case... "someone attempting not to even be a shareholder anymore"..

... because, as shown by the examples at BUFC, innocent people can be dragged into disputes unfairly as Mr. Blackwell unquestionably was.

Alan Foot made comments about book-keeping at the fans forum, but BUFC clearly shows that book-keeping alone does not necessarily equate to probity.. he, Mansell, Carter and others should ensure the correct controls with adequate checks & balances are also in place..

...who negotiates players deals, is their a separation between the deal and the actual contract..? are expenses distinguished from earnings..? who does the banking...? who monitors the attendance figures & returns...? are receipts produced for cash transactions..? is funding based on investment or repayable loans...?

They need to have answers to those questions on hand, otherwise their reputations risk being diminished - in the same way that Munn & Marley are now seen as damaged goods because of their endorsement of the Majeed activities - not always by complicity or even DUPLICITY... but simply by complacency, apathy or a reluctance to engage in the correct level of forensic questioning.
