The 25 yard screamer from James Collins was worth the entrance fee alone - just how lucky are we to have him?

It shows that if you have shot at goal, you can actually score!

Perhaps Dummy should encourage this to happen more often instead of "walking the ball in the net" for the perfect goal?

Watching those highlights I can only assume there were around 1600 people in the West stand. Confused

West Stand ACF.???
If you're talking about the empty seats in the East Stand...that was because of the glaring sunshine, nearly everyone was huddled along the back rows....
honest. 😁

Agreed John on your comment about Collins. I said at the time, that any other of our players would have been looking for the next pass (probably sideways) rather than having a shot.

Unfortunately any defence containing Blackman, Yorwerth and Mersin is there for the taking and sure enough Blackman did a great impression of a statue for their third.

I thought Blackman had a reasonably good game. On the third Carlisle goal, I think you need to look at Cox for losing Lambe and not calling it to Blackman who was actually marking their other player in the middle.

Remember who passed crossfield for our third goal! Blackman!

I still worry about Yorwerth at the back - poor positioning and too error prone. He is a good player, but needs to be further forward in front of the back four, or up front.

Interesting to see Proctor give it the "shush" after his goal. Did he get some stick?

Probably not as much as he did when he actually played for us! Very Happy

Three bad goals to give away though.

I think Smith's goal probably saved Dummy from the sack!

In that case still pulling in 1800 home fans odd, with the performances of late and nothing realistically to play for isn't actually too bad.

I think you might well be right. In his post match interview he drew a distinction between Crawley being here/in L2 for definite next season and himself

Quite telling

I have criticised him on a number of occasions, and questioned his suitability for the role, but my heart did sink a bit on hearing that and his tone of voice. He does seem like a genuinely decent bloke who I believe has given his very best over this past year. It is refreshing to see a gentleman - in every sense of the word - plying their trade in football

However we are destined to literally battle in L2 and we need someone equipped for that. Is D D the right shaped peg for that hole?

No doubt the substitutions cost us - When Morris went off and it was all square at half time I said we needed to score at least two in the second half because I knew we were going to conceed. Mersin just isn't a capable keeper at this level and with no game time for weeks he was always going to be rusty. Nice lad but not good enough. If Glenn is out for the season then the point we picked up will be valuable as we will lose our remaining games.

I thought we did enough to grab at least a point....and I do think we should have learned enough this season to be stronger next...

Alex Ferguson was one game from being sack at United when a goal by l think Mark Robbins against Notts Forest in the FA Cup saved his career - Jimmy Smith just could have done that for Dermot. It could be the turning point for him at Crawley - next season could be much better - we can only hope - I'm sure Ziya Eden will act if it doesn't
