I know people who voted Leave for reasons other than immigration, but I would take a reasonable guess that it was a clincher for many Leavers even if it wasn't their main issue. Indeed, one of the people I know who voted leave is the product of a white English/black non-English marriage. |

I'm a bit confused here, to save me reading back through all the previous pages, could someone explain what this is doing on the 'Talk football' thread? |

It's called 'thread drift'. It happens a lot, like it does in verbal communication. |

Basically a few forumites couldn't resist the chance to kick out the Crawley manager and a few hundred thousand EU economic migrants at the same time... just convenient really...
...stick around TML and we will soon solve the NHS crisis by redeploying the team physio to work weekends in A&E... what could possibly go wrong...? |

Brexit voters who voted out because of immigration are like rats: we sure know they're out there but catching one in the flesh is a challenge. |

There's no end of possibilities here. I'm pretty sure our away travel club could soon knock the Southern rail franchise back into shape. |

There are lots of subtexts... but hasn't there also been a trend established with a few recent election results - Corbyn, Brexit, Trump - where what people have opted for is CHANGE,,, offering "more of the same" has lost its popular appeal..! |

I fully appreciate the existence of 'thread drift' but 'Drummy out' to 'Brexit' seems more like 'thread avalanche' to me |

Yes, some drifts are faster than others
Both sides had some decent arguments and I voted with the ones that resonated with me the most.
There's no point re-hashing old ground because the referendum is done and dusted. Someone labelled me 'blindly pro-establishment' because I voted Remain. They obviously don't know me very well. |

I don't know what we'll do about the 60% of migrants that come from non-EU countries though... |
So you genuinely are one of these liberal *beep* who can't accept the result so decide to smear 17 million people as racist.
*beep* you, BICH. |

If you're out with a group of mates and the conversation drifts from the starting subject, do you rein them in? |
