The Ryder Cup of golf starts in a few days.
For an individual sport, it really transforms into a tight knit team sport, that is a real spectacle to watch.
Anyone interested in watching it ?
Any thoughts, comments or Ryder Cup memories ?

Think it will be very close this year.
After the passing of Mr Palmer no doubt the build up will have plenty of him |

I always think that golf is a game to play, or watch on TV.
If you are a spectator you see much more covered by the cameras. Either that or see one hole played by many, or many holes played by one. |

Which websites have you been visiting today Phil
Golf is a game, not a sport. Darts, tiddlywinks, dominoes, golf. All in the same box. |

You are too young for these sites, Ian.
Darts is another game that fails to be good for a spectator, unless televised and even then fails to be interesting. Trying to see the treble top be hit from the back of the room - no wonder the spectators turn to drink. |

There is actually far more skill in crazy golf... and it has a minimal impact on the environment too..!
But... Sussex Boy... I find it completely disingenous for anyone who voted for so-called "Brexit"... to be supporting Europe in any sporting competition..! |

So just because I don't like the political European Union..... which does not have my best interests.
Means I can't support a European sports team???
Your better than Thad..... |

It wasn't entirely serious... but I just couldn't resist it..
Sports nationalism is a strange beast though, during the rugger world cup I can remember a level of growing antagonism based on northern versus southern global hemispheres...(?) |

See the yanks are showing their true from. Celebrating bad European shots....they really do have no class at all.
No wonder they a had civil war less than 100 years after their independence from us!!
Although if they elect Trump I will be thanking and congratulating them.

Having been to darts and golf events - including the Ryder Cup, I can genuinely say they are fantastic spectator sports to watch live in the amhpitheatre
Even watching these events on the big screens at the venues allows you to soak up and sample the atmosphere like nothing else |
