He will have restricted appeal, but I don't think Corbyn is any less inspiring than Miliband or Brown who tried to grab the centre, but ended up looking like "Tory Light"... in many ways the Scots Nats have made a better job of occupying the centre-left.
But the current labour woes are something the Tories themselves went through in opposition, a disconnect between the politicos, the activists & the public... which will only be resolved with the right balance of personality & policy and I suspect no-one really believes that Angela Eagle is ever likely to be the ultimate solution...?
I still reckon the timing was just so completely wrong, the only beneficiaries have been Theresa "Maggie" May & Tony "don't mention the war" Blair. |

The Scots nationalists have an enemy they can blame for everything.
Anything that goes right is down to their pressure and their good governance. Anything that goes wrong is due to those nasty Englishmen putting everyone in Scotland down.
They hold power but nothing is their fault. Nice work if you can get it.
The hard left of the labour party has finally got it's hands on the levers of power. They will not let go without a fight and, from how they have behaved in the past, they will use every procedural tool in the book to get their own way. Having said that the Labour MPs are as much a part of the Liberal Dictatorship as their Conservative counterparts and I wish a pox on both their houses.

Wasn't that how the Coalition was viewed by the electorate..?
The Tories won an election with a surprisingly decent majority yet their junior coalition partners were decimated... it's always good to have someone to blame and Clegg provided a very good human shield for Cameron & Osbourne.. in hindsight the pair of them probably wish they were still around. |
