Westley got to be in the running. I'm with thad - having met and spoken with him several times he's got something about him that will help in this league.

Of the others in the reckoning - Robins has done lots of jobs up north (but always seems to last until a better offer comes up)

Powell - yes possible.

Saunders - still has an appaling record of getting teams relegated. He was positive here though. But he did follow Gregory

evans - no thanks

O'Driscoll - still scarred by the turncoat chasing another club immediately a better offer coming up.

I would not be surprised to see it being Westley - and I would not be disapointted

Hmm - Gary Johnson being quoted at 8-1 in some of the odds I've seen. I know the bookies sometimes pluck names from nowhere but I wonder what the locals here think of that! Smile

You'd get your money's worth with Westley -

100 minutes per game BUT It wouldn't be good for the football fan to watch a game of rugby.

Oh and there would be no bottles of water for the fans, either!!

WESTLEY OUT !!!

If announced ahead of Barnet game could Westley be greeted with shouts of "Westley out"?

We could do a lot worse than Westley. He has been successful with a similar sized club in Stevenage getting them into League 1.

That said, I think in the last few years it's been found that he has his limitations and I'm not convinced his style of football would be good for the club.

So far Westley and Saunders seem like the most realistic options, although maybe the owners have someone better in mind?

I have just been reading about Dermott Drummy. He is looking to break into football league management. He was Chelsea international coach. He looks a good fit to our requirements. Likes his teams to play attacking football

Westlys assistant was at the game sat taking copious notes . Although not sure what he had to write down the problems were pretty straight forward.

Maamria wasn't at Peterborough with Westley. Was most recently managing Southport. I am struggling to see how he would be an improvement on Yates. That said, is it too much to ask that we get behind the manager, whoever that may be?

No it isn't too much to ask, however until 2 months ago I think everyone was behind MY too. It's only the recent results and the general lack of any entertainment that has done for him.

I just hope we come to a well thought through decision. Clearly when we hired JG no-one had looked at his CV and that is the root cause of the problems up to now - Yates had his hands tied on the budget and has paid the price.

If he comes here I would suspect he'd bring a number two who knows a bit about the league.

It would be a decent punt if you ask me.
I'll tell you what, isn't everyone fed up with the same old names cropping up for these jobs year after year. Most of them have all been sacked in the past at one stage or another, yet here they are turning up like bad pennies offering nothing different to what got them fired in the first place.Surely there has to be a few chairman and owners with a bit more imagination foresight to say there must be another way.
