Did they not say somewhere that it would be sorted by the 16th? Sure I read that. |

The retained list has to be in by 16th. However we know who the contract players are and the club have made clear that all the others are free to leave, although they may be offered deals by the new manager when appointed. |

They did say the new manager would be announced by the 16th. I imagine they'd like to give him 4 or 5 weeks with those players whose contracts end on 30 June to see if he wants to keep any. Not that they're training at the moment, I'm sure.
Preparation, it's what we do |

I thought it was 'hoped to', rather than 'will'. |

The retained list has to be today. Has the football league got this wrong?
How can a club issue a retained list when they do not know what division they will be playing in?
I know that this does not apply to us, but it must be difficult for those teams in the play offs. |

Didn't we have a similar issue back in the DML days when we were in the SSC Final and had to issue 1 month contract extensions to cover it.... leading to the infamous episode of "Nik McTenner" |

Good luck to Lee Fowler wherever he ends up next.

Damn, what a shame. Gutted a deal couldn't be done. Without him and Wordsworth, our midfield will be back to it's shambolic, standoffish, non tackling worst
Hopefully MY has some decent targets in mind. |

He made one hell of an entrance at Crawley Town.... and he handled his exit with dignity and affection too... whatever his demons he has made a real impression as a character & gentleman and a very fine player. Good luck for the future Fat Fowls..!

Christ. The more I read about MD, the more I dislike him. Mark Yates wasn't terribly upset about it? MD is such a bell. What's he achieving by saying that. The sooner that politician-sounding mother-hubbard leaves the club, the better in my opinion. |

Not surprised Fowl's has gone, I suspect he will link up with DS very soon.
Still, he was a class player.
But it really annoys me that MD treats loyal fans in the way he does.
I will be surprised if any more than 7 are left. Lets hope Yates can build a new team and get it playing together better than JG did. Its a hell of a challenge. |

Bit of a wasted opportunity here. We could have build a team around Fowler in League Two.
Good luck to him. |

I don't know why we comment on all these things in the paper.
He hasn't signed, and we move on. No need for a he said, she said saga.
Decent player but he isn't the only midfielder in the world and I'm sure Yates has his targets. |
