Can't believe we trounced Bournemouth that day, and now they are in the PL and we are
in L2.
The Groves factor in full effect. |

Can't believe you're now a Premier League side. I think back to that 4-1 defeat at the Broadfield - wow how times change in just a couple of years! Congratulations!
And yes, delighted to have gotten rid of Groves. |
4-1? I would have sworn it was 3-1. I wouldn't be shocked to be wrong though. |
Ah you are right - it was 3-1. Was a complete battering though, hence why I thought it was 4-1! |

If we had won by seven or eight goals that night,Bournemouth couldn't have complained.
3-1 flattered Bournemouth in all honesty.

Am I the only person on here that doesn't have opinion on Groves?
Unless you're privy to the inner workings of CTFC or have attended his training sessions how could you possibly know?
I know Matt Tubbs has spoken out about him but are we going to take the opinion of one man as gospel?
Don't get me wrong, Groves obviously has some blame in our relegation - he has to, he's been here as coach all season - but I don't understand the vilification of him. Seems like a bit of a scapegoat.
Can anyone please explain? |

I am with you on this BICH, sort of.
The only evidence I'm aware of against Groves was the massive turnaround at Bournemouth - which can also be accredited to Eddie Howe being so much better than Groves as a manager.
The evidence at our place is more circumstantial as he was second-in-command. If Groves had been in charge of our recent demise, I would have regarded it as stronger evidence of his incompetence. As things stand, I would say that he is probably useless rather than definitely. |

Hmmm, not sure you can credit Bournemouth's success to Groves departure. There's way too many variables to contend with there.
John Gregory put together a poor squad - not Groves. Groves was also there with Saunders during our better times too. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously partly to blame for our relegation since he was part of the management team but I just don't understand his demon-like status with some on him. |

Everyone back at corners is the 'tactic' most discussed.....it was there with both DS and JG so i presume it was part of PG's list of cunning plans |

I seem to recall DS giving PG "credit" for that and because it worked in a few games he didn't see the need to change it. It's just a shame DS continued with it when it didn't work. |

If you can't believe it imagine how we feel. Still all feels completely surreal.

I wouldn't have complained, you gave out free pies in your club bar. I bet we don't get that next season. |

You have to ask, why was Josh Simpson transfer listed, having gone to JG about PG on behalf of the squad... |

Ok, say I did ask - hypothetically speaking - what would be the answer? |

Because JG preferred PG to JS, I assume.
The point Peter was making that Matt Tubbs was the only one who went public, but it's known that several of the squad were unhappy with PG's methods and JS, as the captain, was asked to address this. And got transfer listed for his troubles. |
