The club are to be congratulated on providing a decent surface on which to play at the Broadfield.

Last season the pitch was in an appalling condition. Visiting teams (and Crawley) had great difficulty in playing any decent football on such a surface.

This season our visitors are enjoying a far better playing surface consequently their football has improved considerably.

Crawley Town are now being subjected to sides who can move the ball quickly and more importantly accurately. As shown on Tuesday night we can't cope against such opposition.

I don't think Doncaster would have been so successful on last season's pitch.

The state of the pitch has allowed us to see good football being played.

Not only that nearly all the matches are being played on schedule. Last seson ended with matches being played in better weather towards the end of the season. Much better for the fans.

We live in a paradoxical world it seems.

Last year we had a rubbish pitch and a good team. This year we have the opposite, fantastic achievement.

It's in brilliant condition. Big well done to the groundsfolk and to the club for finally sorting it out.

Now if we could just have a decent Crawley team to play on it...

I did mention it Tuesday that the pitch looked good.

It would appaer we can't afford a decent pitch and a good team.

Sad
