Certainly looks a promising signing. Also demonstrates just how poor JG was at finding players as those that have already come in under Saunders seem to be a better grade overall.

Don't they just.
Was this simply down to JG poor skills in finding a player?Has DS been given a little more of the kitty during desperate times?A combination of both??

I'm liking we have players who really want to play for the manager. Loved the reaction to Saturday's winner and Pogba reacquaints with DS. All very promising.

Maggs lives in Portugal now. Can't see him making the trip.

Good signing anyway. That's more like it.

I usually say that the proof is in the pudding on new signings and it still is.

But this is a very encouraging signing which I was not expecting.

Full credit to the board.

Well done and welcome Mr Pogba.

From a Crewe fan on another forum -

Quote:
He is such a strange player. Scores goals despite having very little natural finishing ability. He also suffers from not having a proper position. Struggled for us every time he played upfront, had similar consistency issues when played out wide. As with most players at this level I suspect, on his day he can be excellent, but those days are few and far between. But he is lucky, which isn't a bad thing. A number of his goals came via deflections or lucky circumstances. That being said, I would haven't said no to bringing him back, but I suspect his antics in the summer burnt those bridges.

One the one hand, I have to laugh at him, because he forced his way out of us for all the wrong reasons and now 7 months later, he is back in league one and at a club smaller and lower down the table than us, which says a lot. But on the other, he served us well when he was here. Tried his best, had a 1 in 3 record and got us a bit of profit. Crawley fans will love him as he is a character, but whether he can score enough to keep Crawley in the survival hunt I'm not sure.

hasnt got a great matches to goals scored ratio, still will have to see how he fits in, hopefully very well we need goals scored and plenty of them! Especially as our defence looks like conceeding virtually everytime the oppostions attack us!

Welcome to Crawley Mathias.
He looks a good signing. DS looks happy in the interview. Smile

Very good signing, although I've heard his brother Paul could do a job in our midfield...

.. and his twin Bro plays for St Etienne (the club, not the band) so there is no doubting the lads pedigree...

I think DS has done well to beat the likes of Jose, Arsene & LVG to Pogba's signature..!

Good job his brother isn't in the band or they would be in a bad way. Now we have signed Mathias, nothing can stop us now Wink

I disagree anyway, i think our defense looks ok, it's scoring goals we have the problem with, but with our new signings i predict many goal fests.

By the way, i'm glad we don't have to listen to the Checker trade thing when we score now, that was embarrassing.

Interesting - either we are going to play 2 up front or is McLeod going to be benched?

When you look at the defense it should be good enough, however we have the unfortunate habit of giving away silly goals at set pieces. Free kick at Fleetwood and another goal from a corner against Preston despite all 11 players back in the box.

I am curious about whether we will play 2 up front. I hope we do, as both of these players are goalscorers which will heighten our chances of goals.

I suspect, though, that we will see Izale for 60 mins and Pogba for 30..... Sad
